First Steps To Getting Started In An Internet Business – Part 2
In Part 1 of this series I encouraged you to look very closely at your background and the skillset you have which may help (or hinder) your online business.
You should have also looked at “why” you want to set up online… your motivations for doing it! Because when you choose something you are truly passionate about the rest will be easy to do.
Today, I’d like to know what PROOF you have collected, which shows what you want to do is actually a viable alternative!
Step Three – Describe The Research You Have Done, Which Backs Up What You Want To Do Online
This is where 99.9% of people come unstuck!
They have no inkling of PROOF backed up by solid research, that their brilliant idea stands a snowflake’s chance in hell of actually working!
So outline all the “research” you have done…
What “keyword” and “thematic” research have you done?
What “market” research have you done?
What have you discovered which proves that:
- there IS a market for your brilliant idea, and
- there are people willing to SPEND in that market
Be as detailed and specific as you can! Back up each element with as many facts and figures as possible.
As part of this process, you should have visited the top 10 sites (at least) for all the major keywords in your niche.
When looking at these sites, document everything they are doing, and then answer these questions:
- What are they doing right?
- What were they doing wrong?
- What they are NOT doing?
- How are they making money from their business?
Now, based on that research…
- what is it that you can “do” differently or better to rise above the noise in your niche?
- What potential income sources can you use to make money from this niche?
